EasiCoach U9-U10

New to coaching? Not sure what to coach, or even how to coach? Help is at hand, even for all "non-soccer" volunteers
Dave Clarke

EasiCoach Soccer Curriculum provides ready-made, age-appropriate, safe training activities, set out clearly on a single page, and so simple that even a child could understand. This edition covers U9 and U10 Mini Soccer and is ideal for beginner mums and dads.

For each activity there is also a relevant game, so the players learn a simple skill in an activity, and then use that skill in a game, so the learning is put into practice.

Follow all the materials in the curriculum and your players will be learning the right skills for their age group. They will be having more fun, and be on a gradual development pathway that will make them better, more skilful players and continue playing soccer for longer.

The manual includes a Getting Started guide for new coaches, a user guide, and a parental checklist. The activities are divided into Ball Control, Attacking, Defending, Restarts, Goalkeeping and Heading.

As a volunteer coach who had no soccer knowledge before being coaxed into coaching his daughter’s team, this book allows me to stay several steps ahead of the girls and provides easy-to-understand drills that teach them skills and add an element of much-needed fun to our practice sessions. Whenever I feel as if our practices need some life and energy, I page through this book to get new ideas on how to keep the girls interested in what we are trying to accomplish.

Great manual to help with coaching kids this age. The drills are progressive in difficulty and can be used to supplement or cover the entire season. Offense/defense/goal-keeping/set plays. All covered in a very descriptive way with excellent illustrations. I coached a season of U10 without this manual a few years ago. Coaching my younger son’s U10 team now and using this manual has helped immensely. the kids are much improved…

As a coach I really enjoyed this book. I used this book as a starting place to plan out my sessions for the entire year. I compared my initial long term plan to this book in order to ensure I was covering everything I should be covering at this age level. I think this is a great resource and a must have for any coach. The book will definitely save you time in researching mediocre free articles on the internet. I was so impressed with this book, that I purchased the U13-U14 book a couple weeks later.

drills are easy to read and great if either you want to save time and “buy” your training sessions or if you are looking for ideas to augment what you already do. Works for both. Complexity of drills seems to be appropriate for ages. Organization makes sense and the Getting Started section is spot on for philosophy, so don’t skip that.

similarly as Michael. I am an assistant of a coach of my sons team and with these drills i gained some confidence with coaching. boys like these drills. they were told to be more dynamic, more funny, more with the ball and more intensive.

As a young coach for the last 10 years, it’s been a long time that I haven’t coach a under 10 team, so there’s a lot of issues keys that I was able to find( remind) is this book that help me a lot.

I coach the foundation age groups at our club and found the Easi-Coach book to be very helpful. The hardest part of coaching the young amateur player these days is keeping their attention. The quality exercises in this book really helped me to do that and also teach them the game through game related exercises.

The EasiCoach U9-U10 book has become an invaluable source of training sessions for my U9 team, who have come on leaps and bounds as the season progresses.

The sessions are easy to follow, with simple layouts, illustrations and realistic expectations from the tasks. My players are learning and improving tremendously and look forward to training.

I recently purchased the EasiCoach Skills Curriculum manual for the U9 – U10 age group. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and constantly refer to it. The diagrams are easy to understand and all areas of soccer are covered – even throw-ins! I’m really glad I purchased the book, its getting used quite a lot. It’s my Bible.

I will start coaching 5 and 6 year olds this fall and the Easy Coach Manual will be my Bible.

I have been coaching for over 30 years and I have never seen a better manual for young children. Every youth coach must have a copy of this manual.
