Ian Barker - Advisory Board Member
Ian Barker is Director of Coaching Education at United Soccer Coaches (USC) and formerly of US Youth Soccer. Ian has had extensive experience at youth and college levels having coached for 21 seasons with the men’s programs at the University of Wisconsin and Macalester College, before joining USC in 2012.
Ian was the Director of Coaching and Player Development for Minnesota Youth Soccer Association for 10 years and is a Head Coach of Region II Boys Olympic Development Program.
His qualifications are extensive and he holds the USSF A License, United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and United Soccer Coaches Master Coach Diploma.
One of the most influential youth coaches of the modern era, Michael Beale made a name for himself coaching at the Chelsea academy in the early 2000's. In 2012 Michael left Chelsea for Liverpool where he coached the U23 team from 2012 to 2016. In 2017 he moved to Sao Paolo and took the role of assistant manager but returned to Liverpool 6 months later. After a year as academy manager at Liverpool Michael moved to Rangers and became first team coach working under Steven Gerrard.
In 2008 he published one of the most successful soccer coaching books of all time 64 Small-Sided Soccer Games and published a further 3 leading books with us in following years. We're delighted to share much of Michael's fantastic work with our subscribers.
Tony Carr is the legendary West Ham Utd Academy Director responsible for a generation of talent that includes England stars Frank Lampard, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick & Joe Cole. There are few coaches better placed to help you understand what it takes to guide players from the grass roots to the top of the professional game. Tony has authored over 600 practice plans for Soccer Coach Weekly as well as his influential coaching book Everything You Need to Know for Coaching Youth Soccer
Dave Clarke was the head coach and editor of Soccer Coach Weekly for over 10 years providing thousands of subscribers worldwide with drills, insight and advice covering all aspects of coaching. He is a UEFA B qualified coach, currently coaching at Leatherhead FC in the UK.
