Improve your team’s deliveries from out wide, the timing of runs into the box and the quality of players’ finishing.
Support players to score goals from crosses or rebounds, with a structured crossing play for them to experiment with in an unopposed setting.
You need balls, bibs, cones or poles, and a goal. Use the penalty area of your usual pitch/field. You need teams of four and one goalkeeper.
To start, Player C passes to Player D and then makes an overlapping run. Players A and B begin their runs into the box, in between the poles. Player D then passes the ball down the line for Player C to run on to. After the pass, Player D makes a run into the box. At the same time, Players A and B should be arriving at the pole gate. Player C then crosses the ball to Players A and B, who have made their runs to the back post. Player D is coming in around the penalty spot for any service that is pulled back. As soon as the ball goes dead, the next group of four go.
