Pass and move unopposed to get a feel for the ball and work on improving technique.
Works on numerous aspects of the game in an unopposed setting, including passing, receiving, moving with the ball, communication and awareness.
Set up a 10 to 12-yard square.
You can adjust the size, based on the age, ability and experience of your players. You will need balls and cones.
Split players into four groups.
Practice: Players pass the ball across the area, then left, then right, and then repeat the sequence. Players always run to the right after passing the ball.
Progression 1: Players can now pass the ball to any other player, but they still must only run to the right.
Progression 2: An extra ball is added, so there are two balls in play at the same time. Either ball can be passed to any player ready to receive it. Players can run to any base. Players must make sure all the bases are covered at any one time.
