Welcome to your latest issue of Soccer Coach Weekly!
On to this week’s issue, and consultant coach Carl Wild has another formation guide – this time, the nine-a-side formation of 3-3-2.
Carl explores how, out of possession, the formation provides a solid, compact foundation alongside the challenge of knowing when and how to press, while in possession, it provides lots of opportunities for combination play, with the disadvantage of lending itself less to wide play.
It’s another great guide from Carl which, as always, also includes really useful, position-specific breakdowns.
The session this week, from Robert Fleming, looks at playing through the thirds, with a particular focus on getting through a crowded midfield.
It is particularly relevant for some of the challenges Carl presents for the 3-3-2 formation.
