Set and go is a movement used by a centre forward.
When a centre forward receives a pass with his back to goal and under pressure from a marking defender, he cannot turn and run at goal and he must protect the ball from the defender.
One option is for the forward to make a “set” pass to a supporting team mate and spin to make a run into space behind the marking defender.
Now the forward is facing the opponent’s goal and is free to receive a second pass.
The centre forward prepares to receive a pass, which he will “set” back to the passer, and then spin away into space to receive the ball again
